Can Luck Beat Skill????

Can luck beat skill? Common question. What do you think? Sometimes I believe it can, or so it seems this week that it has. This has been the worst 3 days of work I have ever had. Friday I went to the IP. In a matter of 4hrs I had aces, kings, queens, jacks, and a set of 10's and 8's cracked by a table full of fish. I didn't rake a pot for the 1st 3hrs I was there. So did I get unlucky or was I out played? Not out played but out lucked. Everytime I had the best hand i got sucked out on, either the turn or river. I had there money in the middle everytime with the best hand and they had to hit perfect perfect! Guess what they did. That doen't happen all the time but when it does, it sucks.....
Out playing everyone is what I do after and and before the flop. So how did I lose all those hands? Beginners luck or is it that there just to stupid to fold. Better yet, could it be they have played online for way to long and have sucked out so many times that it is natural. I believe thatt the online game has really screwed up the play in live games. Pokerstars is a perfect example. How many times have you been in a tournament low stacked and get a big pair to push and the big stack call? Only to hit perfect perfect to put you out of the tourament. It happens all the time, no way in hell the numbers are right for it to happen like it does. So i believe that they see that and think that it will happen all the time. Guess what it don't. The online sites have time limits on all there tournaments, so when it gets close bye bye short stacks. Just a thought.

Man, you've sure taken some beats lately. Even though it can be so frustrating it's sick sometimes, try to look at the positive side. Every time someone calls you with a worse hand (without proper odds) you make money (over the long run).

I heard an interview with Mike Caro who made a big point of NOT getting openly angry at the poor players. Because without them, the good players don't make money. He said he feels honored to be sucked out on, since that means he had the best hand going in.

Stay positive and things will change for the better!
